The story

Domestic work, done properly, by the person who quoted it

Adam Jackson started Jackson's Electrical Contractors after thirteen years working on domestic installations. That time was spent in real houses: Victorian terraces with rubber cable still buried in the walls, 1960s semis on rewireable fuse boards, new extensions that needed circuits pulling back to a board with no spare ways.

The customers are homeowners and landlords, mainly in and around Fleet. Homeowners usually call about something that has stopped working, something that keeps tripping, or a project like a kitchen or an extension that needs the electrics planned around it. Landlords call about EICRs, remedial work and getting a property signed off before a tenancy starts.

The specialism is domestic. Rewires, new installations, consumer unit replacements and upgrades, indoor and outdoor electrics, EICRs, EICs and fault finding. Keeping to domestic work means the same problems come round again and again, and the second time you see a fault you already know where to look.

Coverage runs from Fleet out to Farnborough, Aldershot, Farnham, Yateley, Sandhurst, Camberley, Guildford and Ascot. Same-day visits are often possible for urgent faults inside working hours, and larger jobs are usually booked within a few working days depending on the diary.

Who the work is for

Homeowners planning a rewire or renovation, landlords who need a compliant EICR and the remedial work behind it, and anyone with a circuit that keeps tripping and no clear answer why.

Where the work happens

Fleet, Hampshire and the surrounding Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire borders. The phone is answered every day; booked work runs Monday to Friday 8am–4:30pm and Saturday 8am–12pm, with emergency call-outs on weekdays and some Saturdays.

Standards

What you can hold the work to

No guarantees are advertised that cannot be backed up. What is listed below is what the registration, the qualifications and the insurance actually commit to.

Everything wired to BS 7671

The 18th Edition wiring regulations set the bar. Circuits are designed, installed and tested against them, then written up on the certificate so you can see the readings rather than take my word for it.

Tested and certified, not just fitted

Every job that needs one gets its paperwork: an EIC for new work, an EICR where a condition report is what you asked for. Notifiable work is registered through NAPIT so Building Control has its record.

Priced before the work starts

Quotes are free on every job type. Bigger works like rewires and new installations take a deposit before the first fix; small jobs are charged at a flat call-out price so you know the number in advance.

One electrician, start to finish

Adam quotes the job, does the job and hands over the certificate. There is no subcontracted crew turning up on day two who has never seen the property.
